13 days horse riding round trip

Day 1: Arrival – Ulaanbaatar (L,D)                                                                                 
  • An agent of our company already waits for you and will transfer you to the 3* hotel. After you got your room keys you have brief time to rest.
  • Lunch in a restaurant.
  • Afterwards sightseeing in Ulaanbaatar. Starting at Mongolia’s largest remaining monastery and religious centre of the country, the Gandan Hiid. It was founded in the 17th century. Until the 19th century it only consisted of gers and its location was not exactly defined. In the main temple of the monastery, which was not destroyed by the communists, you will see the golden statue of Megjid Janraisig, the Buddha of compassion. He is the patron saint of Mongolia.
  • Visit of the Fine Arts Museum with unique items from 4000 years of Mongolian art.
  • Continue with a roundtrip through the city. Visit of Sukhbaatar square and Zaisan Memorial, from where you’ll have a wonderful view over the city.
  • Dinner in a restaurant. Overnight stay in hotel.
Day 2: Ulaanbaatar - Khovd (B, L, D)
  • After the breakfast transfer to the airport. Flight to Capital of Khovd Aimag (Province) Khovd city.
  • Hovd is unique in its diverse ethnic makeup. It consists of 17 soums (similar to a county with each county containing one larger town that also bears the soum's name), some of which have their own ethnic groups including Kazakhs and seven different Mongolian ethnic groups. Many of the small ethnic groups represented in the city are from the surrounding Hovd aimag, and have their own unique dialects, clothes, dances, songs, musical instruments, and ceremonies. Uriankhais (an ethnic group concentrated in Munkhkhairkhan and Duut soums in the Altai Mountains) are of especial note—their archery is unique and involves shooting rubber-tipped arrows at leather balls.
  • Visit local museum and sightseeing.
  • Overnight stay in Ger camp. 
Day 3:  To the valley of TsagaanEreg (18km)   (B, L, D)        
  • Today you will starting your horse riding trip.
  • Visit Buyant River and valley of Tsagaan Ereg.
  • Overnight stay in tent camp. 
Day 4: To Khar Us Lake (15km)   (B, L, D)        
  • After breakfast in camp continue your trip.
  • Visit wonderful Khar Us Lake.
  • Khar-Us lake is the second biggest freshwater lake of Mongolia and the eponymous national park, that is only two hours away from Khovd. This lake is famous for its numerous water birds such as pelicans, which breed here. Possibility to go fishing. The camp is on the lakeside at the bottom of the Jargalant–Hairhan, a 3800 m high mountain. Mountain hiking.  Lunch and dinner served by the accompanying cook.
  • Overnight stay in tent camp.  
Day 5:  Khar Us Lake (B, L, D)     
  • Today you have free time on the bank of the Khar Us Lake.
  • The lake has island full with birds.
  • Overnight stay in tent camp.
 Day 6: Bor Hamar area (24km)  (B, L, D)
  • After breakfast in camp ride to the southeast.
  • The Bor Hamar area is half stepped.
  • You will camp overnight in tents.
Day 7: Sand area of Manhan [20km] (B, L, D)
  • Today we will ride to Manhan Sand.
  • You are located in the natural reserve known as „Mankhan“ a landscape with full of dunes and salt flats. There are numerous flora and fauna in that area which offers a great panorama of the Altai mountain chain.
  • Overnight stay in tents.
Day 8: Rock painting of IshgenTolgoi (18km) (B, L, D)
  • This morning you will ride to IshgenTolgoi rock paintings.
  • We will camp overnight in our tents.
Day 9: To GurvanTsenher cave (24km) (B, L, D)
  • Today you will visit the GurvanTsenher cave.
  • Cave Paintings - One of Hovd aimag's best known attractions are the cave paintings at Tsenkheriin Agui in Mankhan soum, a little less than 100 km southeast of the aimag center. These red-ochre paintings are believed to be 15,000 years old, which would date them in the Late Stone Age (or Upper Paleolithic Age). The drawings depict a wide variety of animals, some are readily identifiable, such as camels, sheep, bulls, and ibex, others are open to the interpretation of the viewer, such as a drawing of what appears to be an ostrich. Some of the drawings have been defaced by vandals in recent years, though copies of the drawings, as they appeared before they were defaced, are preserved at the Hovd Museum.
  • Overnight stay in our own GurvanTsenher camp. 
Day 10: GurvanTsenher cave [5-10km] (B, L, D)
·         Free time.
·         You can visit local families.
·         We will stay overnight in GurvanTsenher camp.
Day 11: To Khovd (B,L,D)
  • Today drive to Khovd city.
  • Visit local market with interesting wares.
  • Dinner and staying overnight in Ger camp. 
Day 12: Khovd – Ulaanbaatar (B)
  • Visit to the Natural History Museum (dinosaur skeletons)
  • Lunch in restaurant
  • Opportunity for shopping
  • Visit to the shopping mall
  • Farewell-dinner in special ambience
  • Overnight stay in hotel 
Day 13: Departure (B)
end of services 
  • After a last breakfast in Mongolia transfer to Chinggis Khaan airport. Return flight to Europe.
